This month's show features interviews with two very different artists, but both of whom are passionate about their music. Horse McDonald, who just goes by Horse, and Alicia Bridges, who will always be known for giving the world "I Love the Nightlife (Disco Round)." If you want to be a thorough collector of Horse's music, you've got your work cut out for you. Since around 1985 there's been a large array of not only the albums, but also CD singles. It seems to me that it's not unusual for many UK artists to release many variations of similar recordings (as done by the Pet Shop Boys and Erasure); makes it fascinating to collect them. As it's also much harder for an American to have access to these many releases, well, I've only got the major albums by Horse. But I couldn't resist going after perhaps her first release (shown above), a song appearing on a Melody Maker flexidisc an early version of "And She Smiled" done by a trio Horse was in called Astrakhan, from 1985. |

And, Two more radio interviews with Horse! For those who can't get enough, here are two interviews with Horse from a few years ago, when she appeared in Houston's KPFT studios on Jimmy Carper's After Hours show. I was pleased to join in the interview. She even graced us with a couple of live songs on the 2000 show. Horse
