  Every Kiss is a Revolution

Every kiss is a revolution.
Everyday I walk thin ice.
Knowing what's been given freely.
Knowing I might pay a price.
And every kiss is a revolution.
Everyday I walk a line.
Knowing what's been given freely.
Knowing what's been sacrificed.
And I would like to kiss you right now.
Right now could mean sticks and stones.
Sticks and stones can break my bones
and I don't feel like feeling all that kind of pain today.
Come on kiss me anyway!
Every kiss is a revolution.
Everyday I walk thin ice.
Knowing what's been given freely.
Knowing I might pay a price.
And every kiss is a revolution.
Everyday walk a line.
Knowing what's been given freely.
Knowing what's been sacrificed.
And I would like to maybe marry.
Maybe tom or dick or harry.
But it might cause a family scandal.
It might never settle well with the G.O.P.
Mary, spare me. I'm gonna marry!
Every kiss is a revolution.
Every kiss I risk my life.
Every time I kiss my lover.
Out in the open.
Out in the light.
And every kiss is a revolution.
Everyday I cross a line.
Knowing what's been given freely.
Knowing what has never been mine.
And I would like to see a world
that's not so stuck on boy and girl.
A time a space for every yearning.
Kiss me quick my lips are burning.
Can't they see?
All I want is somebody to love me!
Every kiss is a revolution!
Every kiss is a revolution!
Every kiss is a revolution!

  Cathie and Claire

I share a one bedroom with Cathie and Claire.
It's a little bit tight but I'm glad that I live there.
With Cathie and Claire.
And I get asked what am I doing there.
And I've been asked who do I sleep with there.
Is it Cathy or Claire?
Well I sleep on the floor there. I don't get any more.
But occasional shots of them in their underwear,
Cathie and Claire, strutting their stuff in their underwear.
Halleluia! Sweet Jesus we are free!
Halleluia! Two raging dykes one me!
I tell my secrets to Cathie and Claire.
We tell each other about all our affairs.
And ooh, we have lots of affairs,
Me, Cathie and Claire.
We talk about everything under the sun.
We've psychoanalyzed just about everyone.
Me, Cathie and Claire.
And I give them back rubs.
I wash their hair in the bathtub.
And we steam vegetables every night at five.
And you're all invited to come.
Our door is open to everyone.
Halleluia! Sweet Jesus we're alive!
Halleluia! Veggie medleys every night at five!
I know this set up won't last forever.
But for now it couldn't be better for Claire, Cath, and I.
I don't know what our future holds.
But I'm sure when we're grey and old.
We'll think back and smile at the time
it was just us three, me, Claire and Cath,
the three of us living in a one room flat. Halleluia!
All these things that we confirm. Halleluia!
They're having a baby and they're gonna use my sperm!
They're gonna use my sperm!
I share a one bedroom with Cathie and Claire.
It's a little bit tight but I'm glad that I live there.
With Cathie and Claire.

  Mr. Right

He takes you from behind.
You watch out over rooftops.
You remain til night arrives
and watch those streets below explode.
And you feel all high and low.
What you capture is all fleeting and goodbye – all goodbye.
And he's not your first.
And he's not your last.
Just hold him now and tell him you love him
till the time has passed.
He'll be your Mr. Right.
He's Mr. Right for right now.
Those pictures on 6th Avenue,
you get it right away.
But he can't figure out the trick to it.
"Come on," you say, "this isn't art."
And that was all it took.
The fish and hook they catch so sharply – so sharply.
And you'll watch him leave.
Oh but you won't mind.
And you'll linger there in Tompkin Square
to see what you might find.
Some Mr.Right, some Mr. Right for right now.
It's way too late.
Not safe to be here.
And you reposition me for proper worship.
And the feeling is both mystical and sharp.
What I capture is all fleeting and goodbye – all goodbye.
And I'm not your first.
And I'm not your last.
But just hold me now and tell me you love me
til our time has passed.
And I'll be your Mr. Right.
I'll be your Mr. Right
for right now.

  Johnny Shoemaker

Johnny was a Shoemaker
And he loved me
Johnny was a shoemaker
Then he went off to sea
His jacket a deep sky blue
He found his heart his courage his home
Johnny found his yellow brick road
Johnny Shoemaker come back home
Johnny was my north and south
my east my west
johnny was my working shoes
he was my sunday’s best
his madness ran fathoms deep
He found his heart his courage his home
Johnny found his yellow brick road
Johnny Shoemaker come back home
Johnny is a captain
with a brave and mighty crew
Johnny is a captain
(and) a gold high hatted lover too
He’ll come home and we’ll be free
I'll be your heart your courage your home
Johnny, I'll be your yellow brick road...
