Life Span: Born 8th February, 1951; died 29th October, 2001.
Star Sign: Aquarius
Famous As: British female impersonator
Profile: Devereaux was well known for his impersonation of the Queen
Mother. He had a 30-year career in show business and he was a regular
performer in pubs, and also appeared in pantomimes, and in radio and
television broadcasts.
He died aged 50 at St. Joseph's Hospice after a long struggle with
cancer. A benefit was held in his memory at Dukes in Vauxhall, London,
on 9th November, 2001. His funeral took place at St Peter's Church,
Bethnal Green in London's East End on 10th November, 2001, and had
a large attendance of showbusiness friends, including Danny La Rue
and singer Joan Regan.
