Interview from Paid My Dues, Spring 1978 Review from Paid My Dues, Spring 1978 From 1978-1980 when I lived in Norfolk I worked on the staff of Our Own Community Press, including a stint as editor. The paper was published by the Unitarian Universalist Gay Community, the UUGC, which did everything involving gay/lesbian activism in the city at that time. They sponsored a conference in July of 1980 and Therese and Betsy were the musical guests. The following very interesting interview with Therese was published in that month's issue, followed by an album review, and I included (since it was on the same page) a piece on the Michigan Women's Music Festival. Notes: Plus, Muse - Cincinnati Women's Choir included "Take Back the Guns" on their 1998 CD "Sing to the Universe Who We Are" and the Atlanta Feminist Women's Chorus included "Emma" on their 1998 CD "Many Strong and Beautiful Women." Also, Holly Near coupled the song "Emma" with Margie Adam's song "Having Been Touched" on her "Simply Love" album in 2000. If you know of additions to this list of artists covering Therese's songs, please let me know. Therese has no doubt written many more songs/compositions than these, but these are the ones I know of that have been recorded. She did have an earlier album from 1970, when she was 20, called "Prophecy's Child" that had a very limited distribution, and I do not know that it was at all released commercially. Again, if you know of other recorded songs by her let me know so I can add them to this page. Below, the wonderful Hot Wire magazine included soundsheets with most issues these songs were not released by her anywhere else (pass cursor over it to see another soundsheet) For more info on Hot Wire, see bottom of the Casse Culver bonus page
